OTSUKA Holds GERMAS (Healthy Living Community Movement) Seminar for Posyandu Volunteers
Sukabumi, 29 February 2020 – In line with the commitment of PT. Amerta Indah Otsuka to contribute to public health, not only by producing healthy consumption products, PT. Amerta Indah Otsuka also fosters Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, one of which is in the health sector, namely the “Satu Hati Program”.
Health is an important aspect for all levels of society. In this case, health for mothers and toddlers is a top priority. Pregnant women should have their health checked from the beginning to the end of the womb. This also applies to parents who have children under five. Checking the health and growth of children to available health facilities is a routine activity to find out the development of mother and child.
As one form of concern PT. Amerta Indah Otsuka on maternal and child health, the company gradually manages Posyandu (Mother and Child Clinic) from first level to independent. Posyandu that has been fostered since 2012 to date as many as 5 (five) Posyandu in the vicinity of the factory, namely Benda Village and Kutajaya Village. In terms of developing Posyandu, PT. Amerta Indah Otsuka not only provides facilities, health facilities or provision of supplementary food every month, but also provides knowledge for volunteers through seminars from relevant agencies or experts, this health seminar is a routine activity held annually. The annual Health Seminar was attended by 90 Posyandu volunteers, village midwives and Puskesmas (public health center) staff representatives in Cicurug District. “Hopefully in the future, PT Amerta Indah Otsuka, will continue to benefit the community,” said Miftachul Djauhari as Plant Director of PT. Amerta Indah Otsuka.
This Health Seminar brought speakers from the Sukabumi District Health Office, dr. Hj. Titin Malikatun Andadari, MM. as the Head of Public Health. The material raised in this seminar is a program launched by the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the Healthy Living Community Movement or abbreviated as GERMAS which aims to promote a healthy living culture and leave the habits of unhealthy community behavior. There are 7 GERMAS activities namely, Doing physical activities, eating fruits and vegetables, not smoking, not consuming alcoholic drinks, checking health regularly, cleaning the environment and using the toilet.
